The T-505 is used together with Surge Voltage Generator for pin-pointing of cable faults. With synchronously displaying the sound and magnetic waveform, the difference between magnetic pulse and flashover noise can be shown. T-505 also displays the delay between the sound and magnetic waveform. This is particularly advantageous for cable faults which can hardly be located acoustically.
In combination with Audio Frequency Transmitter (T-602), T-505 is used for route tracing evaluation of electric lines and cables.
In combination with HV surge generator, T-505 can also be used for route tracing according to the Pulsed Magnetic Field Method.
