Project + Hybrid Energy Power System
Northern Territory Australia

Powertech introduced new renewable power generation sources to an existing standalone diesel-powered power station.

The primary objective of this initiative was to substantially reduce diesel consumption & reliance on diesel generators but also increase reliability & redundancy.

Powertech’s solution involved designing & constructing a hybrid power system consisting of large scale solar, battery storage & integration with the existing diesel generation system. This hybrid-powered system achieves a 30% reduction in diesel usage while ensuring reliable energy supply to the site.

Solutions Provided:

Renewable Energy Integration:

– Conceptualized, designed & installed 1.2MWh of solar generation accompanied by 1.5MWh of battery storage.

Electrical Infrastructure & SCADA System:

– Full design, installation, and commissioning of all electrical infrastructure, including new transformers, switch rooms & High Voltage cable Systems.
– Implemented a full SCADA & power management system for detailed monitoring and energy distribution.

Operations and Maintenance:

– Developed comprehensive operations and maintenance manuals to facilitate ongoing operations & handover of the generation assets.
